CAREERS WITH SORT & SIMPLIFY NASHVILLE HOME ORGANIZING
Work with us to create spaces where Nashville families can breathe again
Hiring now!Assistant Organizer Position
We’re currently accepting applications for Assistant Organizers to join our growing team on an as-needed, per-project basis. We serve busy families throughout Nashville and the surrounding areas, and we take pride in delivering done-for-you organizing transformations that truly last.
This is not a typical job listing. We’re looking for a specific kind of person: someone who is wired differently, who sees a chaotic space and instinctively knows where to start, and who genuinely loves bringing order to a mess.
Our typical schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 9am-5pm. We're looking for assistants available 3-4 days per week. Starting pay is $25 per hour.
You’ll love this job if…
The people who thrive on our team tend to be natural organizers at their core. Not just “organized people,” but the ones their friends and family call when something needs to get sorted out. They don’t need to be walked through every step. They see what needs to happen and they get to work.
You can walk into a disorganized space and immediately start seeing solutions.
You’re a self-starter who notices what needs to be done without being asked.
You’re detail-oriented in a way you just can’t turn off… crooked labels bother you, and you fix them.
You stay calm and capable in busy, dynamic, and potentially overwhelming environments.
You make decisions quickly and trust yourself to course-correct along the way.
You're comfortable with trial and error. Every home is a new puzzle, and you enjoy figuring it out.
You thrive in a collaborative environment where input goes both ways and the goal is always the best outcome for the client.
You have deep empathy for people who need help. You’re here to support, not judge.
You take ownership and follow through to the finish, every time.
If you’ve ever straightened a messy store display because you just couldn’t walk away, or reorganized the kitchen at an Airbnb because the way it was set up made no sense— you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

What to know before you apply
We want to set you up for success, so here are a few things to consider honestly before applying.
Consistency is key for us
We ask for consistent availability on at least 3 weekdays (Tuesday–Friday), 9am–5pm.
Organizer continuity is critical to project success. Our clients and our team count on it.
This works best as supplemental income
Hours are project-based and cannot be guaranteed. This is not a reliable source of full-time income.
If you plan to depend on this income to cover living expenses, this role is not the right fit.
Slower seasons happen (holiday weeks, weather events, etc.). This is normal for service-based businesses.
Think of this as bonus income. The best fit for this role is someone who can enjoy the busy seasons and rest easy through the slow ones.
This position does not include benefits of any kind (health insurance, PTO, retirement, etc.).
Local travel is part of the job
All jobs are performed in client homes throughout Nashville and Middle TN, typically within a 30 minute driving distance.
A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are required.
We finish what we start, together
Some projects run longer than expected. When that happens, we stay and finish as a team.
You’ll generally know in advance when a longer day is likely, but flexibility on end time matters.
Empathy is non-negotiable
Our clients are inviting us into their most personal spaces. They deserve warmth and zero shame, no matter what.
Homes get messy. Life happens. Our job is to help, not pass judgement on how things got that way.
A non-judgmental, compassionate presence isn’t just appreciated— it’s the job.
